Karen Sheriff, Human Resources Director, MotherSHIP
With a Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from San Francisco State University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California-San Diego, MentorSHIP, ControllershipSHIP, or InstructorSHIP may come to mind. However, we settled on MotherSHIP as a great title for Karen. With Karen’s hiring and management expertise, PMA has available a wide array of staffing options from seasonal to sudden when your company’s marketing campaign is off the charts. We can handle your SHIP with Karen’s ability to attract the right team members. Karen held the position of Human Resources Generalist at one of DHL’s largest US gateway warehouses in Los Angeles, was a contract recruiter for an Austrian company, as well as managed recruiting needs for her own very successful accounts. Also while in Europe, Karen set up a centralized recruitment function for Honeywell Corp.’s four divisions in the Czech Republic. Outside the corporate model, Karen hired her own team, built the processes, and placed nearly 800 people in positions at Honeywell in only 9 months. Karen helps our clients maximize their use of our facility and staffing; i.e., with light assembly, kitting, packaging and more. She is the mother of a precious 3-year old who keeps her on her toes! That’s MotherSHIP in action.

Joe McMahon, Operations Director, LeaderSHIP
Joe comes to PMA with a strong background in implementing world-class operations systems and procedures. His product/process development coupled with his supply chain management skills and 12 years SCM experience is a great asset to our clients. The resources he taps combined with his knowledge have supported PMA’s strong growth in the direct response fulfillment market. He is passionate about streamlining operations to accommodate the company’s commitment to continuous process improvement and working with clients’ IT teams to create seamless data integration. He has over 12 years of supply chain management experience -- we fondly refer to it as CopartnerSHIP inventory management… the term OmbudsmanSHIP could also apply.
Joe is also highly experienced at international shipping and receiving. It’s an art, not a science, in today’s rapidly expanding world of global opportunity where relationSHIPs, industry knowledge, and access to the best in the business are what make Joe a tremendous part of this growing sector for PMA. His many years managing an electronics distribution warehouse with inventory arriving from Asia contribute to his expertise as well as the international shipping he has developed for PMA. Our client base has a large and growing percentage of overseas orders which Joe expertly manages -- from large freight movement to individual consumer orders. McMahon holds a BS degree from Arizona State University. Throughout his career, he has focused on bottom line performance and has excelled at examining levels of efficiency and streamlining procedures that have led to reductions in inventory and improvements in supply chain costs.
“One way to think about running a successful business is to figure out the least you can do, and do that. In other words, outsource your warehouse!”
Jim Garman, Operations Manager, WorkmanSHIP
JJim bridges the space between physical execution, the heart of our operations, and the quality control mechanisms which interface with our order data management systems. He manages the flow of work in the warehouse, prioritizing jobs and maximizing the resources on hand. How does he handle this WorkmanSHIP? He’s smart! With a BS in Business/Information Systems, a MS in Computer Information Systems, and over 15 years experience in warehouse management, he makes SHIP happen efficiently. He’s keen on documenting and improving procedures -- what we like to call GuardianSHIP of process. He keeps our warehouse group working as a team, applying his leader’s, Marcia Karasek’s , skills.
His approach to running the warehouse is a combination of ForemanSHIP, GuardianSHIP, and yes, FriendSHIP. Jim runs a tight, but happy SHIP.
Marcia Karasek, Business Development, EntrepreneurShip
M
arcia brings a rich background in international economics, urban design and business development to her current sales and business development work. She graduated in 1987 from Georgetown’s renowned School of Foreign Service, (B.S.F.S., International Economics) Marcia has always integrated her academics with on-the-ground experience, for example, working on USAID projects and living and working overseas. A decade in Washington, DC took her from small, non-profit groups to the World Bank. Those busy years in the development economics field taught Marcia the value of applied skills coupled with big-picture thinking. She brings that experience to her current work in business development at the executive level.
She followed her passion for urban design and development, and completed in 1995, Magna Cum Laude, her Masters in Landscape Architecture at University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Design. The Landscape Architecture Program at Penn is well integrated with the other professions offered at the Design School where she worked side by side with planners, architects, fine arts, and historic preservation students.
Post graduation, having a business orientation, Marcia was naturally inclined towards and was often involved in presenting and pitching the value proposition of projects.
After graduate school and starting a family, Marcia recommenced her business life in 2007 with the launch of a successful online marketing business. The flexibility and creativity required to grow the business tapped into her skills of collaborating, getting companies on board with the value proposition, and creating relationships. This lead her to current position as head of Sales and Marketing at PMA Fulfillment where she devotes her time to creating partnerships, discovering opportunities and problem solving for her clients.

Andrew began his career as an environmental scientist working for Nelson & Pope, an engineering consulting firm in NY in 1988. With two graduate degrees in-hand and a few years of analysis and report writing work under his belt, Mr. Kolikoff moved on to townships’ environmental management practices and programs. He co-founded and ran a highly successful not-for-profit organization in New York for recycling materials and directing some for re-use by hundreds of NYC public schools. After almost ten years in government and non-profit work, Andrew moved on to fill a leadership role with a national architecture/engineering firm transitioning from environmental analysis to a thriving career in business development in the area with environmental management meets the marketplace, which has been his focus since the late 1990’s.
